1. What attracted you to Red Tent Australia?

I began facilitating Bayside Red Tent in April 2013 when my youngest son was only 2 weeks old. I knew from past experiences that I had a tendency to feel lonely and depressed after childbirth and didn’t actually know too many women in Australia having just moved here from USA in 2012. I knew that friends weren’t going to come knocking on my door. I actually prayed for a circle of wise women. And then created it. Bayside Red Tent grew very quickly and has now turned into Red Tent Australia, I couldn’t be prouder or feel more supported čśŐ I LOVE WHAT I DO AND FEEL INCREDIBLY BLESSED!!

2. What is your experience to date?

When I started facilitating I made lots of mistakes. I put others needs before mine and let people take advantage of me. I didn’t respect my time and so others didn’t either. I now know that to hold space for others I have to fill MY cup first. Working as a leader in my community requires a very high degree of self-care, I know that if my needs are met then I can be there for others. I am a mother to 6 young people; 5 boys,1 girl.
I am partnered to an awakened man who I met when I was 16, we married in 2012. A Permaculture Design Architect. We live on a 47 acre biodynamic farm in Redland Bay.
I am a trained Yoga Teacher,Reiki Practitioner, Raw Food Chef, Holistic Counsellor and Shamanic Path and Practice student. I was trained in Red Tent facilitation by Tanishka,The Moon Woman.

3. What do you hope to bring to your community?

When women gather in circles the world heals, the ripple effect is huge!!
I am very excited to be leading Red Tent Australia as we open more branches all over the country!
The opportunity for women to step up as leaders, create change and initiate positive growth in each other’s lives fills me with immense joy!!
Having a home base for Red Tent Australia and Bayside Red Tent to use is such a blessing and enables us to serve our members and the community. I have huge plans and goals for RTA to become a household name and a place for every woman who desires change and support to go to each month. The programmes and retreats we have for each age group and life transition are life changing and based in Sacred Commerce- the way of the future!! We hope you’ll join us!!

1. What attracted you to Red Tent Australia?

Initially, I was attracted for business purposes, and that turned out to be the tip of the iceberg. Having spent a weekend away with a friend and a few of her friends, we were having a conversation about women in business. I had recently decided that after many years of reading cards quietly that I wanted to “get out there” but didn’t know how. My friend’s friend said, “have you heard of Red Tent?” I said, “no what’s that?” She took me along to the Sharing is Caring night. I made a strong connection with a few of the women there that night and I remember thinking maybe I’ll fit in here, maybe this will work for me. I attended a few of the circles and the connections I had made just got stronger and I felt safe. Safe for the first time in a long time. I was home.

2. What is your experience to date?

My experience with Red Tent has been one of connection and support. They embraced me as I am and accepted me into the Tents. I have been a guest speaker, became a corporate member, facilitated a couple of workshops and attended the amazing retreats. Most recently I completed 2 modules of the facilitator training. Until that point, I honestly had no idea of the depth of support and the opportunities that Red Tent had on offer. I sat in training feeling like I had just been awakened. A little shocked and amazed and so excited. The support just keeps coming. This is a movement where women support each other, no judgement. My experience has been real, raw, honest conversations filled with appreciation and acceptance held in a safe, loving, nurturing space that promotes growth and if you choose to grow your business that is an added bonus.

3. What do you hope to bring to your community?

I am really passionate about Carers. My hope is that I will be able to provide support, education, counseling and some relaxation to some very hard working and often exhausted Carers. Helping them to fill their cup first so that they can continue the amazing work they do. I believe that this is what Red Tent offered me and offers to all the women who enter the Tents. I am simply wanting to extend that same privilege to the Carers who have lost supports since changes were made to Carer funding. I am also hoping to offer meditation along with my other gifts to the Red Tent community. I am also really looking forward to being involved with the Red Tent movement and supporting the community with my Red Tent Sisters.
