Welcome to the Mackay Tent!
Facilitator: Jodie Child
1. What attracted you to Red Tent Australia?
I enjoyed going to Red Tent circles myself. I felt accepted and supported. It allowed me to step up as a woman and to look deeply into myself for healing. There was a real openness that allowed me to feel safe to be my authentic self. Red Tent allowed me to pull off many layers that no longer served me anymore! I am so grateful for this. I love that woman from all walks of life are recognised, honoured and celebrated for their uniqueness in the Red Tent.
2. What is your experience to date?
I have attended many circles and goddess retreats which have opened me up to step up and start my own circle. I am a community-based worker in the Early Childhood field and travel out to remote parts of Queensland. Working with families for the benefit of young children. I am Early Childhood trained and trained in Children’s Yoga.
I have a strong connection to nature which has led me to publish my first children’s book that has a strong connection to mindfulness and nature. I walk a shamanic lifestyle, so nature is my go too for relaxation and brings me back into balance when I am knocked of my perch. I also love crystals, sound healing and meditation.
3. What do you hope to bring to your community?
I hope to bring a space that is safe for women to share. A space that is not mine but ours. Space where all woman no matter what age feel that they belong. Space where we all can be our authentic self. A place that we all look forward to coming too! A space that lights up our soul. I really look forward to seeing you there!
I love the sisterhood of women and know this is very powerful when we come together.
